While Natalya was eating popcorn, Edgar got captured. That's why ya don't let your guard down, Natalya!

Darn escape orbs.
Littlegamer34 January 29th, 2018, 7:18 pm
Wow, the quality has really decreased since the previous page.
NeonUmbreon January 29th, 2018, 7:30 pm
@Littlegamer34: please note that each page is done by different people. so the quality of each page will be different. not everyone is an amazing artist
GoldFlareon January 29th, 2018, 8:46 pm
@Littlegamer34: Gee it would be nice if people actually used their eyes and read that this is a COMMUNITY comic drawn by MANY people of varying ages and experiences. Insulting artists who have less experience is a horrible thing to do and will not be tolerated here. Please be constructive instead of destructive, or simply do not comment at all. Good day!
Nekomata-chan January 29th, 2018, 9:31 pm
@Littlegamer34: Every page of this comic is done by a different member of the PXR community. Some of our participants have barely done any art before their lives and are beginners. Some of the members have done comics before but most are new. This is a for-fun comic to get practice and just make a story.

People like you only discourage people from stepping out of their comfort zone to try to learn to draw. Do you think the people who draw your favorite comics were always great? No. Most start at the same place as everyone else. And it's people like you that prevent the less experienced artists get the confidence they need to continue and improve over time.

You should be ashamed of yourself.
LKWayvern January 30th, 2018, 5:44 am
@Littlegamer34: Some artists have less experience than others in this project.
If you have LEGITIMATE HELPFUL CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, to help them improve, then I'm certain they'd be happy to hear it.
If you have nothing but snide, negative remarks that just make them feel bad and don't say anything useful or positive at all... Kindly shut up. Because nobody needs or wants to hear it.
WriterRaven January 30th, 2018, 7:13 am
@Littlegamer34: I’ll just repost my comment from last page.

“Since this is a community driven comic, yes, everyone does get the chance to draw pages and we welcome all qualities of artwork. So if you could refrain from such derogatory comments since some of the artists are very insecure about their work, that'd be peachy keen."

While the user on the previous page edited his post to cover his tracks, he did have a comment that looked very similar to yours. It's discouraging to all of us with artistic skills that are not as strong as others to continue to work on this project with comments like these rolling in. Remember that everyone has to start somewhere. The artists here that made great pages deserve the praise they get, yes, but remember that they were not always as good as they art now. They had to start somewhere, which is where the rest of us are currently at. So respectfully, remove yourself if you cannot refrain from such commentary in the future.

i dunno who to even reply to here but i don't think five different people have to jump down littlegamer's throat for a careless comment.

yeah it was kinda rude, i get it. but you all said the exact same thing and it kinda looks like your all ganging up on her. if she did this more than once, i'd understand the cause for concern, but the policing over one kinda careless comment makes it so people won't want to comment at all.

anyways, nice page, i hope edgar is ok
LKWayvern January 30th, 2018, 2:19 pm
@moonbeam: This is not the first time a comment like this one has been left. Frankly, we're all getting tired fast from these kinds of comments.
moonbeam (Guest) January 30th, 2018, 4:07 pm
@LKWayvern: i know its frustrating having it happen over and over again, but unless littlegamer herself is the one leaving those sorts of comments over and over again there's no need to have so many of you be so harsh against her. it's not her fault that other people left comments similar to hers and she shouldnt be punished for that. saying things like "You should be ashamed of yourself" and "Kindly shut up" seems like harsh language, no?

i'm not saying that her comment was good or constructive, but everyone just tore into her for something that really isn't deserving of such a tongue lashing

itd be a bummer to do but if this happens too often then maybe you guys can turn off comments. otherwise just a light slap on the wrist should do instead of obliterating someone into the ground.
Nekomata-chan January 30th, 2018, 5:48 pm
@moonbeam: Forgive me if I have no sympathy for those who shoot down the art of new people. It's inexcusable and counterproductive. If you're going to be rude and awful then you'd best be prepared to have people angry and standing up for what they believe in.

People shouldn't sit back and allow this behavior to continue. It takes more than one person to tell someone something is wrong.

And we won't turn off comments because most comments are by pleasant people. We will not punish those people for the actions of others. Instead, we just ban the troublemakers. Simple and easy.

It was an observation more than some full blown, heated beatdown of the artist's skills. If anyone is making a mess out of things, it's y'all, by making a mountain out of a molehill. I sure hope the artist of this page isn't having to deal with all the backlash from this, because I'm sure they're trying to work hard, and just do their thing.
NeonUmbreon January 30th, 2018, 6:38 pm
@Guest: that comment was a low blow to my self pride for my art. it makes me want to draw less then i actually do already. i spent weeks on the page and then its simply dismissed as lower quality instead of just accepting the art for what it is
Guest January 30th, 2018, 6:48 pm
@NeonUmbreon: I'm sorry it made you feel this way! However, again, it was an observation and not a lambasting of your artistic skill. Just because a kid doesn't sing your praises because they didn't catch the memo is not a reason for a bunch of people to dogpile them on your behalf. It makes someone else feel just as terrible, if not even worse than you do, without teaching them anything. Being upset and angry if fine, but the response that was publicized got out of hand.
AgentNein January 30th, 2018, 6:58 pm
@NeonUmbreon: No one's saying the comment wasn't rude, and you got every right to be stung by it, but that doesn't mean people should be dog piling on them for making a mistake. That's not how you teach people and help them learn. I don't know this Littlegamer personally but it's worth keeping in mind there are a good number of kids on the site who are still learning how to behave and think about what they say. So yeah, correction, good. A beatdown like that from several people? Not so much.

As a last note to you specifically, drawing is hard and getting that reaction out of your work is not a great feeling. I've had more than my share of rather harsh criticisms and similar blows, but keep drawing and studying and you'll keep getting better. There will always be people who don't appreciate what you do or dismiss it, that doesn't stop with skill, but there will also be people who do, so keep drawing!
NeonUmbreon January 30th, 2018, 7:21 pm
@AgentNein: note that i did not tell anyone to react to littlegamer, they did so of their own initiative.
GoldFlareon January 30th, 2018, 7:22 pm
@AgentNein: Yeah, I think we'll leave it now and move on. I don't think we intended to gang up on them but we sort of did, not out of anger for them but in support of NeonUmbreon who is a part of our team. (Though yes, many of us were peeved.) It hurts to see someone put down, even if the original comment was intended as an observation and not a direct insult. Like seriously, they had to know that their comment would hurt SOMEONE.

I think from this point we should put a comment when each page is posted that this is a community comic with multiple artists so that hopefully nobody makes a comment like this (or ones that have been made in the past) again.

@NeonUmbreon loved the page, buddy. :) How exciting that we've reached the end of the first chapter! Well done! And please don't be discouraged. <3
AgentNein January 30th, 2018, 7:49 pm
@NeonUmbreon: Oh, nah I figured as much, sorry if that read like I thought you asked them to jump in? That part of the message was more addressed to the group as a whole. Y'all seem to be on the same page here so I put the response all in one message.

@GoldFlareon: It's fair and natural to get defensive of friends, especially when they're hurt, but it's good to know hopefully this sort of thing will be approached collectively with a cooler head in the future? People don't always think before they say things, it be like that sometimes.

That said, a copy-pasted sort of signature line for each author to put at the end of their page comments about this being a collaborative project sounds like a good idea. If my memory's correct and y'all are still open to people joining you could throw a link in there or a note about who to contact if someone wants to get involved.

(And with that I return to Lurking~)

whoopsie, I was on guest. Howdy!
